Final Copy

A couple days ago, I got my final copy of the book!! It looks so cool! Doing my final edits and will send it back soon!!

Audio Book

Still waiting for Layout to start... but in December, i get to go down to Oklahoma and a friend of mine will do the voice for the audio book. She is SO excited!! As a matter of fact, so am I!!

Breakfast in Kansas City...

As I have nothing to post about my book, I'm going to tell you about eating breakfast in Kansas City. At first, I was excited to be staying at a hotel, because at the Continental Breakfasts, they always have a waffle-maker and I was DYING for a waffle. But I get out of the shower on Monday, and there's a plate of mini-doughnuts. I had five of those and half a sausage McMuffin. The next morning we went to IHOP and again I was excited to get chocolate-chip pancakes. I got chocolate pancakes with NO chocolate chips and were extremely dry. Today we had Krispy Kreme. Best breakfast I'd had since Sunday. Sad,eh?

***MORAL OF THE STORY: Skip IHOP, skip the Continental Breakfast, go straight to Krispy Kreme***

Cover designs

Well, I choose my book cover yesterday. Thanks for all of you who gave me feed-back. And, for those who know what I'm talking about, I choose the second design, with a few minor changes.

Cover designs

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been at camp the last two weeks, and I had a camp before that. But I am doing final edits and tomorrow I have a conference call with Lauren Levy, the graphic designer, to talk about the cover design. Graphic designing will take about a month, in which Lauren will sketch different cover designs and I will choose which one I like, and then we start working on the layout (the style of the text and such inside the book). That will also take about a month, then I might get to see the final copy of my book, cover and everything. It's so exciting!!! After that's all said and done, I THINK I go into marketing. Not completely sure, though. I'll post later.

Eidts, edits, and more edits!!

finishing up my editing process, part uno. I have been working on it whenever I had a free moment and I almost took our laptop to school today. Yes it's hard to believe. Well, since summer is around the corner, I will have more time to do editing. I send it in the 15th, then they will send it back, then I review it, then I send it back, then it goes on to cover design... Whew!!

More Editing....

So... I got an email today from my conceptual editor. The conceptual editing process will last, oh, two months at least. I have two deadlines in those two months. More updates to come!!!!

Newspaper Articles

So, I was in the Pea Ridge paper, the Rogers paper, and the Bentonville paper. Cool, eh? I'm still not used to people coming up and congratulating me... Maybe I'll get used to it in the long run

My First Saving Account

So... After I was on the news, I was on the radio (i missed it, but whatever) and Community First Bank heard it on the radio, and they emailed us asking if I would like to open a savings account and to do a book signing at the bank. So, today we went to the bank and set up a savings account. Cool, eh? I have $20 in it!!! Yay me!

My Press Release

Well, sometime in the next few weeks my press release will be in the newspaper--the real one! Not my school paper!--and a couple newspapers want to interview me. It's kinda cool, eh? I just realized that I say eh?* a lot... interesting....

Cool... You learn something new everyday. I learned the definition of "eh?" and that two newspapers want to interview me about my book. Whoo-hoo!!

Email

Well, I received an email about copy editing and conceptual editing. Here are the differences said in the email...

* Copy editing reviews your manuscript technically, double-checking correct punctuation, misspellings, and formatting (such as Scripture and dialogue).

* Conceptual editing works more in-depth with your manuscript and you, the author, giving special attention to plot formation, character development, dialogue, supported arguments, etc., as well as double-checking punctuation, misspellings, and formatting.

Interesting, eh? This month is going to be pretty quiet, but the next few will be more exciting. Well, as my good friend Porky the Pig would say...

Touring Tate Publishing Company

Tate Publishing....

Well, just one week and I will be in Oklahoma visiting my grandparents, and aunt, uncle, and cousins. I will also be meeting the publishing company that is publishing my book. I'm really excited. I'll tell you all about it after I come back next week. Maybe I will post some pictures. Who knows?? Anything can happen. Especially here on MY blog... If you know me, you know what I mean. :)

Sorry!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but nothing exciting has happened. But in a couple of weeks, I will go to Oklahoma and get a tour of Tate Publishing. I will also be interviewed for my "press-release" that will come out in some newspaper. I'll post when I have more news. Thanks for reading! Good day, God bless, and drive home safe!!

Well.....

So I got an email yesterday saying the editing process will start in April. That's really all it said, besides not changing the manuscript, because I could make it worse. More updates to come!!

Finally!!

Well, I know i said about two weeks ago--maybe longer--that i was finishing up revising and editing and sending it in, but every time i thought it was done, it wasn't. So today, i FINALLY sent in my manuscript, short biography, teaser, and picture. Whew!!

Reactions...

I've had a lot of reactions to my book getting published, but my second grade teacher's was the best. My mom sent her an email saying I had news to tell her and she replied giving her number, so we called her. So, my mom talked to her, then I did. So, she was asking me what the big surprise was. I told her and at first she was speechless. Literally. Then she said, "I'm sorry, I'm going to scream." Then she screamed over the phone. It was hilarious!

Snowed In...

The only thing that's been good about being stuck inside the house is that I was able to finish revising my book. Should be sent off this week, then the editing process will begin!! Wish me luck!!
